2011 Christmas Holiday Events:
Tree Lighting Ceremony
and Holiday Giving Tree

November 25 at 5:30pm in front of City Hall, over 100 citizens gathered for our Annual Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony. It’s always a fun time gathering with friends, family, and neighbors, listening to and singing along with the holiday music and the ever popular visit and pictures with Santa. Once the countdown began for the tree lighting, you could see the anticipation on each face and hear all the oohs and ahhs as the tree came to life with lights. What a great way it was to kick off the holiday season. And lest we forget, the hot chocolate, coffee, and cookies provided by our Seniors were a great way to keep warm.

Attendees also stopped by the Holiday Giving Tree to select special ornaments from the tree and fulfill one of the holiday wishes for a member of one of the 12 families on the tree this holiday season. All those presents were wrapped and made ready for Santa at our Annual Gift Wrapping Party on Saturday, December 17, at City Hall. Packages were delivered to family's homes by Santa on December 22, bringing a joyful holiday season to those in our community who can't afford one on their own.

Both events (the Tree Lighting as well as the Holiday Giving Tree) are just a few of the happenings you can volunteer at and get involved with. Pacific Partnerships meets the second Tuesday of each month
at 6:30 pm at the Pacific Algona Community Center. Come join us!
