2011 Recipe Calendar Contest
at Pacific Days!

Don’t be shy we want to hear from you!


Do you like to cook? Do others consider you a good cook? Here is your opportunity to share your talent and your favorite recipe. Pacific Partnerships is having its first ever recipe contest at Noon on Sunday, July 11, at Pacific Days!

Winners will be featured on the Pacific Partnerships’ 2011 Recipe Calendar which will be for sale at this year’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony Friday, November 26, just in time for the holidays!

To enter the recipe contest:

1. Submit a written copy of your recipe (main dish, casserole, dessert—it doesn’t matter) along with a $5 entry fee by 5 pm on July 1, 2010 by:

~ Mailing it to PO Box 256 Pacific, WA 98047-0256; or

~ Dropping it off at the Pacific Post Office at 111 - 3rd Ave SE in Pacific.

     Note: Please make your check payable to Pacific Partnerships.

2. Prepare your recipe dish and bring it to the judges table at Pacific Days at the City of Pacific Park no later than 12:00 Noon, Sunday, July 11.

Once submitted, your dish will be set up and photographed for the calendar. Judging will begin at 12:15 pm then at 1 pm, the winners will be announced. The first-place winner will not only be featured in the 2011 Calendar but will also receive all the $5 entry fees paid by all other entries, so get your neighbors and friends to participate. All other top recipe winners, up to 11th place, will also be featured in the
Pacific Partnerships 2011 Recipe Calendar
.

Pacific Partnerships will use 2011 Recipe Calendar sales proceeds to provide services to the community that will help improve the quality of life for its citizens.

 


 

Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser at Pacific Days

On Saturday morning July 10 during Pacific Days, why not start things off by taking your family or friends out to breakfast at the Pacific Algona Community Center, 100 B - 3rd Ave SE. Pancakes will be served from 7:30 to 10:00 am and will cost only $7 for adults and $3 for children under 10. The annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser is held each year to benefit the community’s seniors. Come support this great cause and have a great breakfast in the process.

 


 

The “Welcome Wagon” to Park at Pacific Days


 

Providing new residents with coupons/gifts/information from
community resources and businesses.

 

Pacific Partnerships has started a Welcome Wagon program for our city that includes a welcome basket for new residents.

While at Pacific Days, stop by Pacific Partnerships’ Raffles Booth and take a moment to see what we have so far and add your suggestions and ideas and/or sign up to be a part of the program.

Pacific Partnerships is just putting ideas together for this new and exciting endeavor and could really use your help and input.

Pacific's 2010 City-Wide Garage Sale

August 21-22, is the date for this year’s Pacific City-Wide Garage Sale. Get rid of outgrown clothing, tools, knick-knacks, books, pictures, toys, and furniture. Turn your junk into someone else’s treasure and make money!

A garage-sale-location map will be available on Friday, August 20, at Noon at the Pacific City Hall, Pacific Algona Community Center, and the Pacific Post Office. If you would like your address included on the map, submit your address information and a check for $5 (payable to Pacific Partnerships) by Tuesday, August 17, either via mail to Pacific Partnerships, PO Box 256 Pacific, WA 98047 or drop it off at the Pacific Post Office anytime before August 17.

The Pacific Algona Community Center, 100 B - 3rd Ave SE, will be serving up Hot Diggity Dog Diggity and Treats on Saturday, August 21 at . All proceeds benefit the Pacific Algona Community Center.

 


 

Holiday Tree Lighting Photo Contest
Don't forget to submit your Holiday Tree Lighting photo in the Photo Contest!

Each year at the Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, Pacific Partnerships hands out 100 greeting cards. The picture on the card is always from the previous year’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony.

This year, we asked each of you to take a picture at the Tree Lighting Ceremony and enter it in our photo contest. If your picture is selected, it will appear on next year’s Pacific Partnerships holiday greeting card along with your name. Your name will also appear in The Pacific Pulse newsletter in the October 2010 issue.

To enter, send your name, address, and contact info along with an electronic version of the picture you took at this year's Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony to editor@pacificpartnerships.org. Entries can be submitted anytime prior to October 1, 2010. The winner's name will be posted on the Pacific Partnerships website at www.pacificpartnerships.org.

 


 

Earth Day 2010 - 3rd Annual Pacific Parks Pick Up

The 3rd Annual Earth Day co-sponsored by Pacific Partnerships and Friends of
the
Lower White River (FLWR) had a 2010 trash-collection total of 4162 pounds,
setting a new record!

Winning teams were:  1st place: Miss Pacific

Princess and her Court (collected 1521 lbs);

2nd place: Frank Hatten (collected 1110 lbs);

3rd place:  Boy Scout Troop 540 (collected 996 lbs).

Thanks to all who truly showed their Pacific Pride. Pacific loves you!
