Pacific Partnerships Celebrates
May Day 2012

This year, the celebration of May Day (on May 1) included the renewing of the old tradition of presenting flowers to friends and loved ones in a celebration of the coming of spring.

A work party took place Saturday, April 28, at the Community Center, at 2pm. All the hand made cone paper baskets with long handles were constructed. Then beautiful flowers of all colors, size, and shape were arranged in each cone basket along with a few chocolate treats. It was a fun time putting some fun into this simple celebration of Spring.

Pacific Partnerships focused on the city's Seniors by delivering the  flowers to both the Rainier Vista Senior Apartments located at 134 - 3rd Ave as well as to the Pacific Algona Community Center located at 100 - 3rd Ave SE.

Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony

Mark your calendars for November 25, at 5:30pm in front of City Hall for our Annual Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony. It’s always a fun time gathering with friends, family, and neighbors, listening to and singing along with the holiday music and the ever popular visit and pictures with Santa. Once the countdown begins for the tree lighting, you can see the anticipation on each face and hear all the oohs and ahhs as the tree comes to life with lights. What a great way to kick off your holiday season. And lest we forget, the hot chocolate, coffee, and cookies provided by our Seniors which are a wonderful tradition as well as a great way to keep warm, especially if it snows!

Bring a can of food for our local Food Bank, receive a raffle ticket, and take a chance at winning one of this year’s raffles.

Also be sure to stop by the Holiday Giving Tree where you can select ornaments from the tree and fulfill someone’s holiday wishes this holiday season.

We’ll see you there! Keep your fingers crossed, maybe it will snow!

Holiday Giving Tree

It is that time of year again, time for the Pacific Partnerships Annual Holiday Giving Tree. We know that during these tough economic times many families are not going to be able to purchase gifts for their children and that is where we as a community can help them out.

Starting on November 25 (at this year’s Annual Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony), the Giving Tree will be available so you can stop by and select ornaments from it. Once you have selected your ornament from the Tree, simply follow the instructions posted by the Tree, fill the recipient’s gift wishes written on the back of the ornament, and return the unwrapped gift items to the Pacific Post Office by 4:30pm, Friday, December 16.

This is where all the fun begins. All those presents need to be wrapped and that’s what happens at our Annual Gift Wrapping Party at 10am, Saturday, December 17, at City Hall. Along with Santa on December 22, all packages will be delivered to families and individuals on this year’s Giving Tree. So come help us play the role of magical elves, bringing a joyful holiday season to those in our community who can't afford one on their own.

If you are not the type who likes to shop, a monetary donation towards the Giving Tree can be made instead, in lieu of actually shopping for a gift. Simply make your check payable to Pacific Partnerships, indicate that the donation is for the Giving Tree, and either mail the check to Pacific Partnerships, PO Box 256, Pacific Washington 98047, or deliver it directly to the Pacific Post Office by December 16, no later than 4:30pm. Your gift is tax deductible. Please use our nonprofit Federal EIN #20-5009001.
